From Christmas Cutouts to Cabin Dreams: A Journey of Faith, Obedience, and the Unexpected Blessings of Now

As the holidays approach, I find myself reminiscing about past years. Memories of baking Christmas cookies and dreaming aloud on social media about hosting guests in my own cabins someday are especially vivid. I was always inspired by Hallmark movies featuring a woman who left her corporate job to pursue her dream of running a lodge, a journey that reconnected her with her roots and taught her to appreciate the simplicity of life. The thought, "Someday, God will make my dream come true," often brought tears to my eyes as I held onto His promise.

This year it’s different.  Today, I’m overwhelmed by the reality of these blessings. Cookies are being put out as a warm welcome for our guests, and I’m managing Timberline Cabins. The days of waiting and hoping are behind me—I'm living my dream! But here’s what I’ve learned: It takes more faith to remain steadfast and focused, walking in obedience through this reality, than it ever did to simply dream of it. Yes, it's hard, overwhelming, and absolutely worth every moment.

I once received this advice: "Hold fast to your dreams but remain open to the ways they might unfold." These words have proved wise. Over the years, as I painted mental pictures of how my dreams would materialize, I never envisioned it quite like this. Yet, I'm reminded that His ways surpass my own, and this journey is just beginning. With each step of faith, we must trust in His plan. So be encouraged today, don’t give up. DREAM BIG!
